Today's haul of original New Yorker art is by Donald Reilly. His cartoon from the December 21, 1992 issue of the magazine takes a popular maxim and gives it an unexpected turn. But a good cartoon has to be more than just clever wordplay. Fortunately Reilly has drawn for us a richly atmospheric setting in which to ponder the thoughtful words of the fisherman's father.
