Not every book I buy sight unseen has to be pricey. It's much easier, of course, to take a chance on a lower-end purchase; there's less at stake if a volume should turn out to be less than its seller claims. A signed and inscribed book by New Yorker cartoonist Michael Maslin is a recent example, offered at $6.19, shipping included. The price, clearly too good to be true, is actually true.
