Gather round—and round—my entry in the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest #563 for April 3, 2017. The drawing is by Drew Dernavich.
"Promise you'll call when the power comes back."

Having more than the usual number of throwaways is a sign of the difficulty I had with this one:
"Play 'The Wheels on the Bus' again."
"No, rat race is not the metaphor I'm looking for."
"It's progress, but it's not forward progress."

"Well, my Fitbit friends are in awe."
"I arrive when my tracker says I arrive."
"Actually, it's not about the destination or the journey."
"Not much new on my end either."
"Not WD-40. It gets the grease."
"Okay, we now offer 24/7 service. What next?"

Note: Last week, Jason Adam Katzenstein gave us a peaceful encounter between a fish and a bird, but just where exactly were they? My caption didn't fly and it certainly didn't float either. Soar or sink into Contest #562.

Give the runaround to my older posts about Drew Dernavich.

Play ball! Did somebody mention the baseball season?
